DIY Pinhole Film Camera

A pinhole camera is a simple camera without a lens, with a pinhole in one side. Light from a scene passes through the aperture and projects an inverted image on the opposite side of the box. The images created are interesting and often evocative.
It's quick and easy to make a pinhole camera from a mailing box, tape and
a small piece of aluminum drinks can. It took Peter Willett just 30 minutes to make his.

The World's Largest Pinhole Camera Photograph

In 1999 six photographers converted an F-18 hangar in a decommissioned Marine Corps Air Station in California into the world’s largest pinhole camera.

Eighty volunteers developed the print in a tray the size of an Olympic swimming pool and washed it with firehoses. The finished print fills 325 square meters.

By using a crude pinhole camera but modern high speed film, he’s able to make hand-held snapshots of elegant beauty that celebrate the graininess inherent in film plus the soft, smudged focus of pinhole photography.

Paris - A Pinhole Movie Project

This 2012 film  is an experimental visual project by photographers Romain Alary and Antoine Levi using the camera obscura technique. An apartment is completely darkened. A hole is made in a window, letting light from outside come in. Projections take place everywhere inside.‬
