International Women’s Day 2026

On International Women’s Day I am thinking about the approximately 165 young girls who were killed in Minab by a US airstrike and were not given the opportunity to become women.

You might also want to think about what happens to women in Iran when they criticize their government the way you are free to criticize yours. Or try to imagine any democratic government using girls' schools as human shields for their military bases -- which is most certainly a Protocol I war crime according to the Geneva convention. And it happens over and over throughout much of the Islamic world. The fact is, the majority of women in Iran appear to stand with America in this war. Like you, I'm a lifelong dyed-in-the-wool lefty who believes in women's rights, fair taxation, a functioning public service, and less perverse distribution of wealth and power. Woke is clearly not getting us there. And after learning about Chomsky's ties to Epstein and Peter Thiel, I'm becoming increasingly suspicious about the real reasons the leadership of the left has worked so hard to manufacture dissent and weaken our democratic consensus. Are we all being played by global billionaire slavers with near infinite PR and algorithmic resources? There's just so much caca on both the left and the right today. And in this war, the left siding with the Ayatollahs is smelling a lot like another big, stinking pile of Ortega-Mugabe.
