Once the Dust Has Settled

A Canadian town called Asbestos was once home to the largest mines of its kind in the world. Years after the mine’s closure, Asbestos residents reflect on their changing city, built around the open pit that acts as a constant reminder of a not-so-distant industrial past. Before 1990 asbestos fibres were commonly used as insulation. But, inhaling asbestos can cause the deadly cancer, mesothelioma as well as other diseases.
