Do you like the Beats and have a half hour to spare? This short film by Robert Frank and Alfred Leslie starred beat poets Allen Ginsberg, Peter Orlovsky and Gregory Corso, artists Larry Rivers and Alice Neel, musician David Amram, actors Richard Bellamy and Delphine Seyrig, dancer Sally Gross, and Pablo Frank, Robert Frank's then-young son. It was adapted by Jack Kerouac from the third act of his play,
Beat Generation. A railway brakeman’s wife invites a respected bishop over for dinner but the brakeman's bohemian friends crash the party.
I am happy to say, that David Amram remains the Professor of Hangology, composing music to this day. In his 90's, still admits that one day, he's gonna get a real job.
