Kunststük - The Facades Stand Alone

In Russia, fabric nets used to hide ongoing renovation work on buildings are often printed with patterns which portray the buildings behind them. Artist Olya Pegova sees them as stand-alone architectural objects in a limited timeframe. Her photo series Kunststük — German for “sleight of hand” or “hocus pocus” — looks at these printed buildings appearing on netting and draped over Russia’s real structures. She has eliminated the real backgrounds and lets the facades stand on their own.
