The story of the Topiary Cat began when British surrealist artist Richard Saunders was walking a few years ago and saw a shrub shaped like a cloud. It reminded him of a sleeping cat and he decided to insert his beloved cat Tolly, who passed away in 2016, into a photograph he'd taken. He created many more similar images, some of which went viral on Facebook and were seen by millions. He tells the story here:
