New Vhils Mural Unveiled in Toronto

Portuguese street artist Vhils painted a mural depicting some of the heroines of the 1975 Cleaners' Action movement. A majority of the primarily women cleaners were from Toronto's Portuguese community.
"It was a story that touched me a lot. We decided to make the mural, not only for women who are still alive, but for this whole movement that emerged to create better working conditions for the first wave of Portuguese immigration to Canada" - Vhils
