Mercer’s annual ranking of cities with the best quality of life uses various metrics to identify the best cities to live in worldwide. The ranking looks at recreational opportunities, housing, economic environment, consumer goods availability, public services and transport, natural environment, social-cultural environment, education, health care, and a city and country’s political and social environment. There are 3 Swiss and 3 German cities in the top ten. No American city made it into the top 30.
