Hydrospeeding on The Aletsch Glacier


French mountain athlete and hydrospeeder Claude-Alain Gailland and canyon activity specialist, Gilles Janin, decided to bodyboard down the Aletsch glacier in Switzerland, Europe’s longest glacier. Hydrospeeding is not for the faint of heart. The water you are rushing down eventually flows into a deep crevasse and glacial lakes that feed the runoff often overflow causing ice and debris to crash down the channels.
Mountaineering photographer, David Carlier, caught some amazing photographs of the pair's winding seven mile journey.
