Aviary is a project by Toronto artist/photographer and videographer
Sara Angelucci, inspired by the Victorian era when both aviaries and photography were very popular. Photographs of endangered or extinct North American birds are combined with anonymous nineteenth century cartes-de-visite portraits. They bring the family photo album, with its role of commemoration, together with natural science and spiritual emanations.
