Au Pantheon!

The Pantheon in Paris, masterpiece of the architect Soufflot and the final resting place of French cultural icons, is currently undergoing restoration. Au Pantheon is an installation featuring anonymous faces while the work is going on.

French photographer JR collected photographs submitted to his website and also photographed participants in a portable photo booth around Paris during March, 2014. He then chose the most expressive and diverse models for the Pantheon project. For the final installation, JR installed 4,160 faces within the mausoleum and on the external scaffolding.
