Glorp Gum's Cold War Christmas

During World War II American pilots chewed GLORP GUM to ward off airsickness and its taste became  became the flavor of victory. After the war returning soldiers longed for their airtime treat but alas the US Military didn’t manufacture GLORP for market.
Soldiers tried to create their own GLORP  concoctions (known as “bubble bath gum” as it was usually made in bathtubs or “bubble gum” for short). These gums  never had the famous “wakeup blast” that the soldiers had come to know and crave.
Read how a Russian scientist named Rostislav Krivonogov cracked the GLORP formula and found that the gum’s patented “war time punch” came from a popular Russian additive known as “kickcaine”.

Well, not really. Awhile ago illustrator and comic book artist Brad McGinty bought and relaunched the Glorp Gum Co. But the chewy confection is beside the point. McGinty has recreated t-shirts and other vintage paraphernalia including Cold War Christmas cards.
