A
friend informed me that comments she tries to leave me are not accepted by Blogger. Is anyone else (who doesn't have a Blogger account) having the same problem? The suggestion was made that I switch to Wordpress. I considered it in the past but Blogger appeared to be treating me right and I haven't really given it much thought since. Any opinions out there? Of course those of you who don't have Blogger accounts might be prevented from commenting so I may be dealing with a biased sample.
Here's a comment!
ReplyDeleteSometimes Blogger is very tempermental.
There have been a couple of times I've commented and it hasn't gone through, but for the most part it works fine.
ReplyDeleteBlogger has been bery bery good to me.
ReplyDelete...sure...i got problems with blogger comments...mostly they don't agree with me!
ReplyDeleteWe've been very happy with Wordpress for blogging and for website development. I've not used Blogger, so I can't offer a comment on their service.
ReplyDeleteBeckie, I'm wondering if you have problems posting comments on Blogger blogs? Do they sometimes not appear?
ReplyDeleteI find I have to use the Name/URL option when commenting.
ReplyDeletePsst.
I use my Gmail identity.
ReplyDeleteAnd sometimes I use an open account.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe an anonymous account.

I'm a blogger who's blogging on blogger....
ReplyDeleteIt works for me, so my comment might be pointless. Nobody's ever told me that blogger won't allow them to comment at my blog, so I'm not going to be of much help in this instance, unless this comment won't go through... and if it won't go through.. then i'll be no help at all.
It appears to have gone through.
ReplyDeleteThe wordpress vs. blogger debate seems a bit like the mac vs. pc rivalry, polar, yet pointless.
So long as Blogger continues to work, do what I want within reason, then I see no reason to investigate Wordpress.
That would occur only if it could demonstrate a clear advantage, for which, so far, I can't see any evidence.
Just a thought... Under dashboard/settings/comments...
Have you got: Who Can Comment?
Anyone - includes Anonymous Users
Registered Users - includes OpenID
Users with Google Accounts
Only members of this blog.....
Which is ticked? I've had settings inadvertently changed before.
test non blogger comments
ReplyDeleteThanks Soubriquet. Everything looks fine in my comment settings and no one else seems to have had trouble posting comments so I think I'll just let it ride.
ReplyDeleteYesterday, after putting up my weekly Photohunt pic, I tried leaving comments on a few Blogger blogs - nightmare. So I gave up and left a note about this on the post ... and not one more Blogger person left a comment!
ReplyDeleteYou can read what other WP people said in the comments...

It really isn't just my problem. For example, in order to leave this comment today - after several "open ID error" notices - I had to revert to the Blogger ID I created a few years ago, specifically for this problem.
