Stunning snowflake photos


As water vapor starts condensing on its surface, the ice particle quickly develops facets, which form into a different shaped snowflakes depending on temperature.

  1. The top photo looks like a beautiful glass plate.
    How does one take such wonderful photos?
    We don't see too much snow around here, but farther up the mountain it can be snowy from Dec. to March.

  2. I suspect that one takes such beautiful photos with a very expensive camera. Where do you live? We get enough snow that it makes my hour long commute tricky through much of the winter.
