Don't fall for it. It'll take more than a paint job to convince me that Harper is suddenly green (ok, maybe green with envy at Dion's credibility as an environmentalist, but that's as far as I'll go). Harper walked away from the Kyoto Protocol, along with only four other industrialized countries: the US, Australia, Lichtenstein and Monaco. He's cut funding for research and environmental programs and pooh poohed dissenters. His environmental plan is a joke, as was Rona Ambrose, the minister in charge of implementing it.
Now he's doing a complete turnaround. Has he seen the light through the hole in the ozone layer? No. He's seen the poll that shows that Canadians rate the environment as their number 1 concern, ahead of health care.
How long do you think it will take before Canada's rusty environmental record starts showing through the green?
