Take the Queen Off Our Money and Put on Stompin' Tom

The Royal Family costs taxpayers a fortune and not just British taxpayers - think about the upkeep of Rideau Hall, the 79 acre estate in the heart of Ottawa. The Royals have servants to pander to their every need, leaving them plenty of time to indulge in every kind of hanky panky you can think of. They date porn stars, dress up as Nazis, have serial affairs, hunt down helpless animals, want to be tampons. These anachronistic celebrities receive huge subsidies to run their farms and estates. What do these accidents of heredity do to earn their incredibly lavish keep? They shake a few hands and visit a few hospitals.
Given all that, I can understand why the former GG might criticize the Queen. But honestly, is this the best she can come up with?

In her book Heart Matters, Clarkson, the Queen's representative in Canada from 1999 to 2005, takes a swipe at Liz for daring to powder her privileged puss during a fancy dinner party. Clarkson was gob-smacked and insists that such a breach of etiquette would never be tolerated in Canada.
It gets worse.
In the same tell-all book Clarkson even chides the Queen Mum for using different services of china for various courses during an official sit-down dinner.

Monarchy's time has come and gone but it is not a bit of primping or some mismatched china that has brought about its demise.

How About "Toiling For You" or "Slaving For You"?

I can't believe anyone would take this seriously. I guess I can work for you but I can't talk about it?

If you wanted to sell hamburgers, you couldn't stick golden arches outside your eatery to make it look like a McDonald's.
So how, asks Vaughan councillor Bernie Di Vona, can his rival Rosanna DeFrancesca print campaign literature with what he considers his trademark phrase, 'working for you'?
Di Vona registered a design including the phrase, 'Bernie Di Vona working for you Ward 3' with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office in 1999.
Now, he's seeing red because DeFrancesca has printed 17,500 flyers saying, 'Rosanna DeFrancesca, `Working For You' Vaughan Councillor Ward 3.'
'That's in-the-gutter politics,' Di Vona said, comparing the 'working for you' phrase to the McDonald's golden arches.

Today's Urban Def

Niagara on the Lake is crawling with this particular species. They make the Nag utter very nasty words.

gramps champ
The overly slow and cautious driver, usually elderly but not necessarily, who manages to stay in front of you in traffic. They turn where you want to turn, exit where you want to exit, and go into the same parking lot you're heading for, and so they are always in the lead. You have trouble passing them because there's only one lane or else traffic volume is just too busy. So much to your frustration, you remain in second place while they undeservingly take the checkered flag!
Jack: 'How come you're so late? The movie's about to start!'

Danny: 'I was rushing, but I got stuck behind two or three gramps champs on the way here! It was so annoying!'"

Hotel Marques de Riscal

A series of rectilinear elements, clad in sandstone, combined with sweeping panels of gold and pink titanium, and mirror finish stainless steel.

The winery of Vinos Herederos del Marques de Riscal is located in Elciego, in the Rioja region of Spain, and is one of the oldest wineries in the region.
Traditionally the wineries in the region are not open to the public, but as a component of an overall plan to redefine and invigorate its public image, Marques de Riscal commissioned the design of a small building intended to provide a unique experience for visitors to the winery.
