Archway Studios, London SE17 £1,100,000

Some years ago I read an article about Archway Studios, a stunning example of adaptive reuse in London. The dingy doorway (image above) gives no hint of what lies beyond. It is now for sale.

Jaguar "inaugurates a new era" with Type 01 electric car and it’s pretty snazzy.

Who agrees with your opinion of whether there is life after death? This piece was created by Alvin Chang using data from the Global Flourishing Study, a 22-country, longitudinal investigation, tracking more than 200,000 participants across every inhabited continent.

I think I have something in my eye…

I thought it was just me: The share of Americans who say they host friends or family at their home at least monthly has fallen from 42 percent in 1975 to 12 percent in 2026—a 70 percent collapse in a half century.

I joined Bluesky to find people who shared my political outrage but now, thanks to Memo Of The Air, I have found that the Bluesky universe offers so much more.

The best multi day hikes in the world (2026) I am a walker and I do a minimum of 5 km per day but could easily do more. These hikes look pretty fabulous and I think I might enjoy some of the shorter ones that are only moderately difficult. (Memo Of The Air)

  1. Clicking on Archway Studios, and then on the included map, and then the provided street view icon, shows you the 'street view' for sure, but also, when you spin around 180 degrees, you see the police tape on the buildings, the police van, the policeman standing guard.

What is missing is the back story about what happened ... if you need to know it, let me know and I will make something up.

Hint - It was more about a love triangle than a racial tension issue, although, like some bunches of grapes, there were mixed skin colours.

Oops, I think I have told you most of the story already.

    1. Putting a house like that in a working class neighbourhood is part of the mass gentrification of London that has led to whole demographics being replaced at breakneck speed - and possibly some great stories.
