Yesterday I caught a glimpse of the 52 year old MV Chi-Cheemaun coming down the Welland Canal from Port Colborne headed to Hamilton for dry dock and its 5-year inspection. There were lots of spectators watching the iconic ferry make its way through the locks in Thorold and St. Catharines. The name means "big canoe" in Ojibwe.
