On August 9th, 1945 the US dropped a plutonium-fueled atomic bomb nicknamed "Fat Man" on Nagasaki, Japan. The explosion caused approximately 60,000–80,000 deaths, mainly of civilians, by the end of 1945. Here is a 3D animated breakdown of the bombing:
