Design An Afghanistan Rug

For his wedding anniversary, Alex Tabarrok employed weavers in a small village in Northern Afghanistan to weave a custom rug (image below) he designed for his microbiologist wife. The rug mixes traditional Afghanistan designs combined with Bunsen burners, test tubes, bacterial petri dishes and other scientific elements. They will make one for you too!
