“I took this photo in south Gloucestershire, a couple of hours’ north of the landscape which predominantly inspired the one in Villager, but I always associate it a little with the psychedelic magic of Underhill, especially as I was still in the immediate giddy aftermath of finishing the book when I looked out upon this beautiful scene.”
