The People vs Paul Crump, William Friedkin’s First Film
Nine years before he made The Exorcist director William Friedkin made this noir documentary about the prisoner Paul Crump who was sentenced to death for robbery and murder. At the time Friedkin had no real knowledge of how to make a film at all.
