The 1990 Capital Crawl

The Americans with Disabilities Act is a strong piece of civil rights legislation that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in everyday activities. It was not achieved without a struggle. Yesterday was the 35th anniversary of the Capitol Crawl, in which disabled activists discarded their mobility aids at the foot of the Capitol steps to climb them in support of passage of the Act.
