A 10 Year Old’s Wild Week in 1940

With $20 in his pocket, and a theatre with a lax policy on kids watching flicks unsupervised, the possibilities were limitless. The fifth-grader’s week was filled with candy bars, comic books, hot dogs , and movies, punctuated by naps at a tree-covered lot.
