Understanding Venice


In the video below Manuel Bravo explores the canals and squares of Venice to show its architecture and urban design.


Venice is one of those destinations that is overwhelmed by tourism. You must, of course, see the main attractions but if you get off the beaten path there are some quiet corners that have a charm of their own. 
One of my fondest memories of Venice is this aptly-named restaurant with a treed terrace where we would escape the hordes and have a glass of wine in the late afternoon. Sometimes we were the only patrons and there were many birds which I fed from my hand. (Lousy photo (below) was taken way back in the day with a disposable camera so excuse the poor quality.)

    The city is full of so much detail most people probably wouldn't notice and if they did wouldn't understand the significance this guy is explaining. That's why youtube is a better way to travel for me.
    Well, fat and lazy contributes too. ;o)
