This is absolutely a problem. If a person can't pick something up on foot, bike, or transit for whatever reason, then having it delivered by a vehicle making rounds to multiple locations is the next best solution. But having individual cars running around delivering individual orders in a city, where people live within walking distance of shops and restaurants, is ridiculously wasteful and terrible for traffic. - lolarusa
Scooters and bikes are more common than cars for food delivery. I doubt any delivery person could make a living delivering one sandwich. May have the last sandwich at the end of a delivery cycle but that is normal. Pharmacies deliver drugs. Groceries deliver groceries. I would rather have one delivery guy deliver ten sandwiches that ten guys in cars going to get sandwiches.

ReplyDeleteI remember when services were available within walking distance and I truly believe it was better then.
