The Man Who Created Clippy
Do you remember this annoying little character? "Despite always being on hand to offer helpful suggestions and useful tips, Clippy’s input wasn’t always appreciated. His diligent gaze and shape-shifting animations divided opinion amongst the masses."
When Clippy was born there were a lot of people who were buying PCs because their kids needed it for school, peer pressure, or to be included in bull sessions at work. Those folks had a steep learning curve and Clippy was helpful, but got annoying real fast.

I was Clippy neutral but years ago I had 2 co-workers. One loved Clippy, the other hated him.
