The South-North Lean of Cook Pine Trees

These trees were once found only in New Caledonia, but now, due to cultivation, they can be found all around the world. Scientists have discovered a strange pattern in their tilt – Cook pines lean south in their northern range and north in their southern range. This distinct pattern of leaning towards the equator is a mystery.

      No, they are not. First, they are 100ft+ trees, second they don't swing around all day, they are fixed at an angle--over a lifetime. But it sounds like you could solve the mystery with a little more effort.
