When Shetland shawls were more valuable than gold

In 1964 Cathal O'Shannon reports from Unst, northernmost of the inhabited British Isles, where he has discovered a material more valuable than gold or platinum.

    1964, I wonder where it stands now? Probably someone in the far east has trained sheep to rub only their necks against combs, and devised a robot to spin and knit it.

    1. Yep, like cashmere it was probably been hijacked by fast fashion and turned into into something that looks good but is insubstantial.
