A year ago nine drones tracking a herd of elephants crossing through China’s south-western Yunnan province filmed them taking a rest.
This herd of 14 wild Asian elephants left their habitat in Xishuangbanna National Nature Reserve in March 2020, crossed the Babian River and entered Ning'er county in Pu'er city, one of the three major habitats of Asian elephants in Yunnan. The 1300 km northbound trip lasted about 18 months.
