The Michigan, which sank in Lake Superior on October 2, 1902 |
The Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society has captured images of 19th century shipwrecks they discovered off the coast of Grand Marais, Michigan. The three ships—the Michigan, the Frank N. Wheeler, and the Dot —all sank in the 1880s where they were preserved 600 feet underwater.
Wreckage inside the Wheeler's main cabin includes an overturned stool and the remains of an old-fashioned stove. |
