The 1939 Schlörwagen

The Schlörwagen was a prototype aerodynamic rear-engine passenger vehicle developed by Karl Schlör (1911–1997) that was presented to the public at the 1939 Berlin Auto Show. It could reach speeds of about 135 km/h ( Schlör said it could go) 146 km/h). People thought it was ugly and nicknamed it “Göttinger Egg” or “Pillbug”. It was never mass-reproduced and the fate of the prototype is unknown.
