“Big John” is about 66 million years old and roughly 23 feet long and 8 feet high at the hips. The skeleton was discovered on private property in South Dakota in 2014.
Sadly, demand for rare dinosaur fossils has inflated prices at the expense of museums, which often cannot afford to buy them. It was purchased by an American buyer for personal use.
I'm trying to picture what personal use of that huge dinosaur could be? Maybe to draw people to your business, but for that money it would have to be a Planet Hollywood sized business.
