In 1980, at the Turin Motor Show, a concept car was introduced. The Lamborghini Athon was designed by Marc Deschamps and was named for an Egyptian sun god. It had futuristic geometric lines, a large windshield and no roof. At the time Lamborghini was suffering a financial crisis and the Athon brought the company some much needed media attention.
