OOOMS Studio in the Netherlands makes the handles of their kitchen knives from broken skateboards, scraps of counter tops, 2000-year-old wood and whatever suitable material they can get their hands on. The handle of the Nakiri knife (photo above) is made from old skateboards, mosaic and brass pins. The hypnotic video below shows a knife being made from an old sawblade.
