Ella Fitzgerald: The Lost Berlin Tapes
Recently Verve’s vice president of catalog, Ken Druker, and producer Gregg Field were going through an archive of live recordings and uncovered a reel-to-reel tape of Ella Fitzgerald’s 1962 spectacular performance at Berlin Sportpalast arena that had lain, undisturbed for 60 years, in a box closed with yellowed Scotch tape.
