These Mice Sing For Love

Singing mice actually exist outside cartoons! The Central American Scotinomys Teguina aka Alston’s singing mouse uses tunes to attract lady mice and even engages in fast-paced back-and-forth singing duels to win a mate.



Understanding how this 'vocal turn taking' works in mice may lead to therapeutic interventions for people who suffer from communicative disorders.
