March 25th is Våffeldagen (Waffle Day) in Sweden. The Swedish Vårfrudagen, meaning "Our Lady's Day" (the Feast of the Annunciation), sounds similar to Våffeldagen ("waffle day") and over time the religious holiday morphed into a waffle fest. Celebrate it like the Swedes do with traditional recipes from food writer John Duxbury.
