Cross section illustration of the Kosugiyu sento in Koenji |
Sento are public bath houses where the Japanese go to cleanse both body and soul. When aspiring architect, Honami Enya, fell ill she discovered Kosugiyu, her local Sento in Koenji. Using her architectural rendering skills she began to create detailed illustrations of the sento and eventually accepted a job tending the bathhouse.
Enya has published a book of her illustrations and also sells Sento merchandise here.
