In 1961 the CIA developed the Acoustic Kitty project. They'd noticed that no one paid much attention to feral cats that wandered around during a meeting held by an Asian head of state. What if cats could be used to spy on the Russian embassy? So they wired up a grey and white cat. Finally, after years of testing and training and at a cost of $20 million ($160 million today) Acoustic Kitty was ready to roll.
