Honey Thief

Bruce, a frequent contributor to this blog, sent me this photo this morning. I was surprised to see a raptor grabbing his own dessert and wanted to find out more about it. This bird is probably an Accipitridae or honey buzzard, a large bird with a wingspan of up to 6ft that digs deep to reach ant larvae and pupae. It also eats bees and their honey.
I learn something new every day. Thanks Bruce!
