Souris Calle, An All Star Memorial To A Cat

French conceptual artist Sophie Calle's 17-year-old cat, Souris, died in 2014. The cat is now the subject of an exhibition which opened in Paris on Saturday. The project is Calle's response to the callous responses from those around her to the loss of her cat.The show includes elements of video and selections from Calle's past work but its centerpiece is an album called Souris Calle. The artist enlisted 37 world renowned musicians including U2 frontman Bono, The National, Michael Stipe and rapper Pharrell Williams  to create an album in commemoration of her feline companion.

Two Projects: Parce que & Souris Calle is on view at Perrotin Paris at 76 rue de Turenne until December 22.
