Cocktails Inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe's Iconic Paintings

In honour of an upcoming exhibition at the the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh artist Georgia O’Keeffe’s anatomical paintings have been transformed into cocktails. North Carolina restaurants and bars have each created a specialty cocktail inspired by an artwork from the exhibition.
The Sand Hills cocktail (above) by Michael Kilbridge is a cherry- and orange-drenched beverage inspired by O’Keeffe’s “Small Purple Hills” (1934) that is reminiscent of the Blood & Sand, a classic  cocktail  from the 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book by Harry Craddock.

The Beyond: Georgie O’Keeffe and Contemporary Art runs from October 13 to January 20 at the North Carolina Museum of Art
