Illustrated street scenes show both sides of Japan

In her series, A Year in Japan, Australian artist Erin Nicholls sought to represent each month of the year and show these contrasts further. She wanted to pay homage to Japan's philosophy on the pathos of life – how we should live in each moment before it is gone forever.
