The Pied Piper Of Catnip

In 1909 G. Herman Gottlieb had a little knowledge of botany and a great desire to make some quick cash. So went to a wooded area and worked all day long filling his baskets with catnip. He returned to the city and began going door to door trying to sell the nip. Unsurprisingly the neighbourhood's stray cats were drawn by the smell and he soon had an entourage of 30 or 40 felines. Gottlieb was overwhelmed by the animals and was glad to see a policemen coming to help him (or so he thought). Unfortunately, Sergeant Higgins instead arrested the catnip peddler for causing a crowd to collect, which was against the law.
