An exhibition at the Daikaku-ji Temple in Kyoto features a story told through calligraphy, ink paintings, picture scrolls, and nishiki-e (polychrome woodblock prints) . The legendary mythical Nue yōkai is a prominent part of the story, pictured on an 800 square meter stone mural in the temple’s garden.
Approximately 30 tons of stone was used to create the piece.
