The world's oldest bottle of wine is probably older than you think. It's remained unopened since the 4th century. Discovered in a nobleman's tomb, it is named the Speyer wine bottle after the region in Germany where it was found. It was the custom at that time to bury provisions for the jouney to the afterlife with the deceased. The contents have been protected from outside influence by a wax seal. Experts are wary of how exposure might affect the contents so the bottle remains sealed.
It is on display at the Historical Museum of the Palatinate in Speyer, Germany.Via
