Why Food Tastes Different on an Airplane

Because an airplane cabin is actually drier than some deserts your taste buds actually go numb when you're in-flight. Scent starts to deteriorate the minute you step on to a plane, but nosedives once your airplane climbs and your ability to detect sweet and salty tastes foods is reduced by about 30 percent.
