An anonymous portrait of Beijing made from 30 years of negatives

Thomas Sauvin, a French photography collector and editor who lives in Beijing has a film archive of about half a million negatives salvaged from a Beijing recycling plant that filtered silver nitrate. Chinese animation artist Lei Lei took 3000 images from his archive and created this award winning portrait of Beijing that dates back 30 years.
