Gustave Eiffel's Secret Apartment


When the Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 its designer, Gustave Eiffel, had a cozy apartment built for himself on the third level. Eiffel used the space for quiet reflection, and to entertain prestigious guests such as Thomas Edison. Today the apartment looks much as it did in Eiffel's day and has been reopened to the public.
